What's Itinerary

Day 1 – Lavasa: Phuentsholing

After your arrival at the airport or at the NJP railway station, our representative will follow up and pick you up from there. Next, you will be heading towards Phuentsholing by road, the economic centre of Bhutan. After reaching the hotel, you will finish every formality and spend the rest of your time relaxing in Phuentsholing only.

Day 2 – Transfer to Thimpu.

The next day after completing your breakfast you will be heading towards Thimpu the capital city of Bhutan. Completing the immigration formalities, you will be stepping into Thimpu, the beautiful, serene capital of Bhutan. Next, you will be heading towards your hotel and checking in to rest for a while. In the evening you will be visiting Tashichho Dzong a beautiful fortress. Overnight stay in Thimpu.

Day 3 – Sightseeing at Thimpu- Travelling to Punakha / Wangdue

In the morning after completing your delicious breakfast, you will be heading towards visiting tourist spots in Thimpu. You will be visiting Kuensel Phodrang which is a beautiful Buddha statue, King’s Memorial Chorten and Folk Heritage Museum as well. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Punakha / Wangdue via Dochu-la pass. After checking in at your hotel, you will be overnight staying in Punakha / Wangdue.

Day 4 – Sightseeing in Punakha / Wangdue-Transferring to Paro

Next morning after finishing breakfast you will be heading for small sightseeing in Punakha. You will visit the Chhimu Lhakhang which is also called the temple of fertility in Punakha. Next, on your way to Paro, you will be visiting the Royal Botanical garden of Lamperi. On reaching Paro, you will get time in the afternoon to explore the adjoint places and markets. Overnight stay in Paro’s hotel.

Day 5 – Visiting Chele-La pass

After finishing your breakfast, you will be heading to Chele-La Pass which is one of the highest motorable roads in Bhutan. You will be spending time there watching the beautiful mountains and taking pictures. Next, you will be coming back to Paro followed by spending the rest of the day in leisure over there.

Day 6 – Sightseeing at Paro- travelling to Phuentsholing

In the morning after completing your delicious breakfast you will be heading towards sightseeing in Paro you will be visiting Drukgyel Dzong, Ta Dzong (Ring Pong Dzong and the famous local markets in Paro. Next, you will be heading back to Phuentsholing followed by overnight staying there before leaving Bhutan.

What is the best time to visit Bhutan?

Being a year-round destination, Bhutan can be planned at any time of the year. The four major seasons winter, spring, summer and autumn have their own charm and it’s entirely your call when to visit the picturesque country. So plan your Bhutan trip accordingly. Spring brings along the vibrant colours of the season carpeting the valley with new blooms. The summers are pleasant with the right amount of sun kissing the land while winters are really cold with snow covering most parts of the country.

Do Indians need visa for Bhutan?

Indian nationals do not need a visa to visit Bhutan. All you need is a passport valid for six months or a voter’s identity card which will permit you entry to Paro and Thimpu only. A special area permit from the RGoB in the capital city, Thimpu is required for visiting towns other than Paro and Thimpu. If you are entering Bhutan via road, then you need to present a permit issued by the office in Phuentsholing.

How far is Thimpu from Paro?

A scenic valley town located west of Thimpu, Paro is about 50 km via Thimpu Highway and is an hour-long drive from the capital. Home to the only international airport, Paro is the gateway to Bhutan for international tourists.

Can I travel to Bhutan by road?

Bhutan is accessible from India by road through West Bengal and Assam. In Bengal, take the road to Phuentsholing from Bagdogra which is a stretch of 170 km and in Assam head to Samdrup Jongkhar from Darranga about 50 km from Guwahati.
